Dear SirsOur Client: British Gas Trading Limited t/a Centrica Business SolutionsProperty: 9-10 Boot Parade High Street, Edgware, Middlesex HA8 7HEWe would be grateful if you would kindly furnish us with details of the liability on business rates at the above property between the dates of 27/11/2019 - present day. This request is considered to come under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.We are an energy company, supplying gas and electricity to sites across the country. We require the information to ascertain liability for a debt which has accrued to the site between the periods described.There is a prospect that legal proceedings will be pursued if, once liability has been apportioned, no payment is received. In any event, we require the information in order to defend our rights under the Electricity Act 1989 to seek payment for electricity consumed at the site.We believe the requested personal data is therefore exempted from non-disclosure under the data protection act per Schedule 2, Part 1. Paragraph 5 (3) of the Data Protection Act 2018, which states the following:"Information required to be disclosed by law etc or in connection with legal proceedings3 (3)The listed provisions do not apply to personal data where disclosure of the data'(a)is necessary for the purpose of, or in connection with, legal proceedings (including prospective legal proceedings),(b)is necessary for the purpose of obtaining legal advice, or(c)is otherwise necessary for the purposes of establishing, exercising or defending legal rights,to the extent that the application of the listed provisions would prevent the controller from making the disclosure. "In view of the above, we request disclosure of the requested personal data. I hope this is sufficient information for your purposes.
