To Whom It May ConcernOn 27 May, we made a FOI request to the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) which read:"Following the independent review of drugs by Dame Carol Black, Government allocated funds to challenge illegal drug misuse, combat drug misuse, and for treatment and reduce drug harms. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/independent-review-of-drugs-by-dame-carol-black-government-response/government-response-to-the-independent-review-of-drugs-by-dame-carol-black Allocated or spent to date, I would like to know how much funding has been earmarked specifically for LGBTQ+ people, gay men and other men who have sex with men and/ or chemsex."On 21 June, DHSC replied saying:"DHSC does not hold the information you have requested. Although we collect some information on how Local Authorities (LAs) propose to spend their allocated drug misuse funds, the specific level of information requested is not provided to us by LAs. However, you may wish to contact LAs directly which may hold the information you have requested."Therefore, we making a FOI request to know for 2022-23, 2023-24, 2024-25, how much funding has been earmarked, allocated or spent, specifically for LGBTQ+ people, gay men and other men who have sex with men in relation to 1) chemsex treatment and 2) harm reduction, allocated or spent.
