About the Recycling and Waste team
Our Recycling and Waste crews collect bins from over 150,000 household and business properties. We collect refuse, recycling and garden waste, usually working in a crew of three, made up of two loaders and one driver.
We are looking for hard working, motivated, reliable people to join our team.
What we need from you
Our crews need a good level of physical fitness and will be required to work in all weather conditions.
Drivers will need to hold a full UK Class 2 HGV driving license and be experienced driving refuse collection vehicles.
You will be representing the Council and will need to be courteous and helpful at all times.

“I’ve been working for Barnet Council as a refuse driver for a while and have recently been employed full-time. Day to day work is great. I work with a good team and also work Saturdays on garden waste. The job can be hard some days...but I enjoy the challenge.”
