BEETS Careers Fair

The Barnet Education Employment and Training Support team, better known as BEETS is reminding young people in Barnet they are on hand to offer careers advice and support during the the ‘A’ level and GCSE results period.

The BEETS team will be holding a Careers Fair this Friday 25 August at Chipping Barnet Library from 2:00pm – 4:00pm, for secondary level students in Barnet who are wanting to find out more about the various different career options available to them, whether it be further study or an apprenticeship and/or traineeship.  

The free drop in session at Chipping Barnet library will provide young people with the opportunity to meet with representatives from Colleges and Training Providers and Employers who will be able to provide advice on further education courses, apprenticeships and employment opportunities.

BEETS staff will be available at the careers fair to advise on:

  • Remaining in full time education or training in a school, college or training provider
  • applying for an apprenticeship or traineeship
  • getting a job, becoming self-employed or volunteering

They can also assist Barnet young people with:

  • Careers guidance
  • writing CV’s
  • interview techniques.

When: Friday 25 August, 2016, 2:00pm – 4:00pm

Where: Chipping Barnet Library, 3 Stapylton Road, Barnet, EN5 4QT.

Who: Representatives from Colleges, Training Providers, Employers and advisors from the BEETS team.

Deputy Leader of Barnet Council, Councillor Dan Thomas, said:

“With A-level results released last week and GCSE results coming out this week we know now is the time our young people will seriously be considering all their future career options, so it’s important we help them by providing guidance and advice on any questions and concerns they may have.

“I strongly encourage young people and their parents to visit the BEETS drop in session, or contact the team to find out more about how they can help you find your way towards a rewarding career path.”
