Due to the calling of the General Election* and laws that govern the conduct of councils and councillors in the period running up an election, the meeting on the Re contract review due to take place on Tuesday 25 April has been postponed.
The meeting will now take place on Monday 26 June and arrangements for the meeting will be confirmed nearer the time.
The council has contacted members of the public due to speak at the meeting directly. Those who have already submitted views will not be required to resubmit them.
The deadline for any new submissions for the re-arranged date will be Wednesday 21 June.
The Re contract delivers a wide range of services including highways, planning, regeneration, environmental health, trading standards and the Hendon Cemetery and Crematorium.
The meeting will be an opportunity for members of the public to present their views to councillors, as part of a four- year review of the council’s contract with Re Ltd, which is being overseen by a working group of councillors.
The Re review is looking at ways of improving service delivery and residents’ experience of using the services, as well as to identify approaches to income generation and opportunities for savings in response to the changing needs of the council and the borough.
