Update on roadworks at Apex Corner

Following further work between Barnet Council Officers and Transport for London the roadworks of the current phase have been reduced:

A Barnet Council spokesperson said:

"TfL has committed to reducing the duration of the current phase of work on the A41 by one week, it is now scheduled to be completed by 10 June. As of 10 June the next phases should be less disruptive and should reduce current congestion."

Following the disruption at Apex Corner, Barnet Council officers and TfL have been working to resolve the situation and have now reopened Pike Road:

A Barnet Council spokesperson said:

“Pike Road is now open to traffic and Council Officers continue to work with TfL on further improvements to the flow of traffic to minimise disruption caused by the works on the A41. We thank everyone affected for your continued patience.”

Following last week's traffic disruption at Apex Corner Barnet Council officers and TfL have been working to improve the situation and reopen Pike Road:

A Barnet Council spokesperson said:

“Council officers are working with TfL to reopen Pike Road on Wednesday 18 May by relocating the units currently blocking it to Oakmead Gardens today.

“On the A41, TFL is urgently looking at reducing the length of the coned taper blocking two lanes and at modifying the traffic management system currently in place. 

“We have been liaising with local residents and schools to help manage the disruption caused and would like to thank everyone affected for your continued patience while TfL completes these essential works.”

Following reports of traffic disruption due to roadworks at Apex Corner and Pike Road, Barnet Council officers have been to the site to work with TfL.

A Barnet Council spokesperson said:

‘Barnet Council works with TfL on numerous projects across the borough such as the bridge repair project. We are in close communications to ensure the effect roadworks have on the flow of traffic is minimised.

‘Barnet Council officers are on site today with TfL and are working to resolve the issue at Apex Corner as quickly as possible. ‘
