About the project
Barnet Council and the LTA have announced a partnership to invest in and refurbish 21 public park tennis courts across the borough.
The project is part of a nationwide investment by the UK Government and LTA Tennis Foundation, delivered by the LTA, to refurbish public tennis courts across Great Britain, and open up the sport to many more people.
Thousands of existing park tennis courts in poor or unplayable condition will be brought back to life.
New gate access technology and booking systems will improve court accessibility and benefit communities across the country.
Who it will benefit
Park tennis courts are vital in providing opportunities for children and adults to get active.
Playing tennis can also benefit physical and mental health and wellbeing.
Creating accessible public tennis courts will also open up the sport to those from lower socioeconomic backgrounds and people of all genders.
Tennis activities
Weekly organised free park tennis sessions for all ages, playing levels and experience.
Equipment is provided and you won't need someone to play with.
Local Tennis Leagues will also provide friendly, sociable, opportunities to get active through local competition.
Annual season ticket model
We are launching a season ticket model, including a range of options to play from 4 September 2023. A new season ticket model has been introduced. It is an open and affordable pricing policy and the courts are operated in a sustainable way.
Annual season tickets costs only £35 (Adults) and £15 (Concessions - Under 16s and over 60s) and allows you to book tennis courts for free for two 1-hour bookings per week, all year round.
Non-members can pay £8 (Adults) and £4 (Concessions - Under 16s and over 60s) for one hour of court time at any of these courts per day.
