Changes to premises licences Due to the enactment of the Immigration Act 2016 many of the Licensing Act 2003 application forms have been amended.  In addition some applications now also require proof of right to work in the UK to be provided along with your application documents.  Please make sure you read through all application forms and the guidance notes provided before you submit your application and ensure that you have all the documents necessary to make a valid application.

Finchley and Friern Barnet Coats of Arms

Friern Barnet's Coat of Arms was granted to Friern Barnet in October 1938, while Finchley's coat of arms was granted in July 1933. The different parts of the shields and their supporters (the animals on either side) represent different parts of these two areas' history.

Woodside Park and Woodside (Finchley N12)

Woodside House is possibly a medieval property, but certainly known by 1699. By the 1800s it was called Woodside farm. In April 1872 the station opened and in June, 45 acres of the Woodside estate were sold as 'Torrington Park', part of the Woodside Estate. 

Home Library Service
