Building control site inspections and advice

Building Control site inspections If you have deposited a valid application with us (such as Full Plans, Building Notice or Regularisation) you can arrange a site inspection with a Building Control Surveyor to check compliance. Please call 020 8359 4500 and select option 2. For same day inspections, you will need to ring before 10am and our lines are open from 9am. We aim to inspect sites between 11am and 5pm.

North Finchley used to be called North End (1462), but there were few houses until the enclosure of Finchley Common in 1816. Where the police garage is today a man called Thomas Rawson built a windmill in 1627. By 1754 the windmill was an inn called the Swan. It was the only building on the road between Fallows corner and Whetstone.

If you construct a shelter for Shisha users, it may also require planning permission.  Tobacco labelling Anyone selling tobacco products should ensure that these have been legally imported into the UK. The following notice should also be clearly displayed on the premises: It is illegal to supply tobacco products to anyone under the age of 18.
