By law, the council must appoint an Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) and a Returning Officer (RO) who have legal powers and a statutory duty to collect and process personal data. The ERO/RO is a separate data controller to the council. The Chief Executive of the London Borough of Barnet is the Electoral Registration Officer and the Returning Officer and is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) with regard to all Electoral Services data.

Ask for a 'determination' if you're refused building regulations approval and you think our decision is unfair. If you think you shouldn't have to comply You can ask us to ignore or relax one or more of the building regulations if you think your project shouldn't have to comply with them. If we still say you have to comply You can appeal to government. You have a month to make the appeal.
