Landlord Suresh Nathan Paramaswara was convicted at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 25 June after a successful prosecution by Barnet Council.

As part of the campaign’s ‘faces of Barnet’ art project, shoppers had their photo taken in the Barnet Council photo booth before leaving a comment to say what they love most about living in the borough’s diverse community. Students from Friern Barnet's Holly Park Primary School choir sang for shoppers at the event and also took part in the campaign themselves.

Barnet Council wins 2019 London Borough Tree Award

The borough picked up the prestigious accolade from the Greater London Authority and Forestry Commission, coming top out of the 32 councils the competition was open to. The Barnet tree programme – thought to be London’s largest – will improve air quality, support biodiversity, reduce the risk of flooding and provide protection from the sun during heatwaves. The effect will be to improve the long-term health of residents across the borough.
