£300,000 awarded to local Barnet organisations to help with the cost-of-living crisis

The Barnet Together partnership has awarded £300,000 of the Barnet Community Fund (BCF) to support the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector in Barnet. 

The fund was shared between 40 Barnet VCFSE organisations and will be used towards the cost-of-living crisis and Covid-19 recovery.

Mayor of Barnet writes to Mayor of twinned city of Pokhara following tragic plane crash

Following the tragic events in Pokhara, Nepal, the worshipful Mayor of Barnet Cllr Alison Moore has written to the Mayor of the city twinned with Barnet. As a mark of respect, the borough flag flying outside of Hendon Town Hall is flying at half-mast.

New Public Space Protection Order for Barnet will make the borough safer

Following a public consultation in the autumn, a borough wide Public spaces protection orders (PSPO) for Barnet began on Monday  12 December and will be in force for three years. 

This order allows designated council and police officers to take swifter action against those engaging in anti-social behaviour activities, by issuing advice, fines, behavioural orders, and formal prosecutions as appropriate.
