Barnet Council’s enforcement officers found that 80 Highfield Avenue, Golders Green, had not been registered as a House of Multiple Occupancy (HMO) – despite being home to nine people. They discovered a faulty fire alarm system, stairs and flooring that had been partially eaten by rats, and a severe cockroach infestation – all breaches of HMO management regulations.

In the initial reopening phase, gyms, studios and pools will reopen at Burnt Oak, Hendon, Copthall and New Barnet Leisure Centres, while facilities at Finchley Lido Leisure Centre will open at a later date. Following Covid Secure guidance, anyone wishing to use the facilities will need to pre-book a one hour time slot via the Better app or website. 

The unit will be open for tests for attendees in a vehicle and on foot between 10.30am-3.30pm on each day at: Edgware Community Hospital – Tuesday 21 July, and Barnet House – Friday 24 July. All appointments must be booked in advance, either:
