The team is made up of Angela Richardson, Mayoral Services and Civic Events Manager, Tim Kellman, Senior Mayor’s Support Officer, and Valerie Davis, Mayor’s Administrative Assistant. They were given the accolades – and £1,000 in prize money, which will help support the Mayor’s charity, the Royal Free Charity – by the National Association of Civic Officers.

Barnet Council has today launched the ‘They’ve had the COVID-19 vaccine, will you?’ campaign which features three faces from different Barnet communities who have had the vaccine. The campaign aims to reassure people from all communities that the vaccine is safe and effective and to encourage them to get the jab as soon as they are eligible to do so.
Property company and director fined thousands after blaze left six homeless

Barnet Council discovered the property was an unlicenced House of Multiple Occupancy (HMO) after being called to the scene in Hall Lane by the London Fire Brigade. The tenants were lucky to escape without injury and council staff helped them find emergency accommodation, later identifying numerous breaches of the minimum safety standards for HMOs. An investigation by the council found that the property had no fire doors or fire extinguishers, and an inadequate fire alarm.

Barnet’s residents are being urged to ‘shop local and shop safely’ in a campaign from Barnet Council to support businesses in the borough’s high streets and town centres when they reopen from 12 April. The Discover Barnet campaign will run into the summer, encouraging residents to support local business owners to ensure Barnet’s high streets are able to overcome the damage the past year has done, and give them the support they need for a positive and thriving future.

Polling stations are open 7am-10pm today - don't forget to vote! Today, Thursday 6 May, around 6.1 million registered Londoners will go to the polls to elect a new Mayor of London and 25 London Assembly Members. In Barnet, two by-elections will also take place on the same day. Registered voters in Edgware and East Barnet will elect one new councillor in each ward.
